On the occasion of World Meditation Day 2026, Indian spiritual leader Raseshwari Devi announced two major spiritual and wellness initiatives that have attracted nationwide attention. The announcements include a massive 1,500-seat Yoga and Meditation Hall in Odisha and a week-long meditation camp in Haridwar.
The upcoming meditation and wellness centre is being developed near Tangi in Odisha’s Khurda district, close to Bhubaneswar, under the guidance of the Braj Gopika Seva Mission. The centre is expected to become a major destination for meditation retreats, yoga education, spiritual learning, and community wellness activities.
Who Is Raseshwari Devi Ji?
Raseshwari Devi is an Indian spiritual teacher, preacher of Sanatan Vedic philosophy, and founder-president of Braj Gopika Seva Mission, which was established in 1998.
Born in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, she studied Mathematics and English Literature before dedicating her life to spirituality and renunciation in 1988 under the guidance of Jagadguru Swami Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj.
Over the last three decades, she has conducted spiritual discourses, meditation programs, youth awareness initiatives, and social welfare campaigns across India and abroad. Her teachings primarily focus on Shri Krishna Bhakti, meditation, Upanishadic wisdom, emotional well-being, and value-based living.
The 1,500-Seat Meditation & Wellness Centre
One of the biggest announcements made on World Meditation Day 2026 was the construction of a dedicated Yoga and Meditation Hall capable of accommodating more than 1,500 people at a time.
According to reports, the centre will function as a hub for:
- Meditation retreats
- Yogic education
- Spiritual workshops
- Wellness-focused community programs
- Mindfulness and emotional well-being sessions
The project reflects the growing interest in meditation and holistic wellness in India and globally. With increasing awareness around mental health, mindfulness, and stress management, large-scale meditation centres are becoming important community spaces.
Mega Meditation Camp in Haridwar
Along with the Odisha project, Raseshwari Devi Ji also announced a week-long Mega Meditation Camp scheduled to be held in Haridwar from June 11 to June 17, 2026. Nearly 2,500 participants from across India and international locations are expected to attend the event.
The camp will include:
- Guided meditation sessions
- Talks on yogic philosophy
- Wellness workshops
- Discussions on mindfulness in daily life
- Spiritual learning activities
The broader aim is to promote meditation as a practical tool for emotional balance, self-awareness, and inner peace.
Her Focus on Youth & Cultural Development
Raseshwari Devi Ji is also known for youth-focused initiatives such as Bal Sanskar Shivir and Yuva Utthan Shivir. These programs are designed to encourage ethical values, discipline, emotional resilience, and cultural awareness among children and young adults.
Her spiritual approach combines ancient Indian wisdom with modern-day relevance. Instead of presenting philosophy in complex terms, she explains spirituality through practical examples related to relationships, decision-making, emotional health, and personal growth.
Rising Interest in Meditation Worldwide
Meditation has gained global recognition in recent years due to increasing awareness about mental wellness and stress reduction. The United Nations officially declared December 21 as World Meditation Day to promote emotional, mental, and physical well-being worldwide.
Research studies also suggest that meditation and mindfulness practices may help improve relaxation, emotional stability, and overall mental health.
With projects like the upcoming Odisha meditation centre, spiritual leaders such as Raseshwari Devi continue contributing to India’s growing wellness and mindfulness movement.
