Role: Data Analyst

The Google Data Analyst job focuses on interpreting data to solve business problems, generate insights, and support decision-making within Google’s vast product and service ecosystem.

Data Analysts work across teams to design data strategies, build dashboards, automate reporting, and deliver actionable recommendations based on quantitative research.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in data analytics, access and authentication management, cybersecurity, technology research, anti-abuse, or related fields.
• Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection and transformation, statistical modelling, visualization and dashboards, or a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Trust and Safety access and security systems, ensuring security objectives are met without compromising operational efficiency.
• Design and implement seamless integrations between business goals and security systems, including developing and executing strategies to support system effectiveness.
• Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, stringent deadlines, significant organizational implications, and requiring adaptability to changing circumstances.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the process area, including domain expertise in data sources, access and authentication methods, relevant products, potential issues, interconnected systems, Google-wide business projects, and investigative methodologies (e.g., extracting data, building data pipelines).
• Create anomaly detection pipelines, monitor and analyse systems for scaled abuse detection and user access monitoring and reduce risk to the enterprise.
