Professionals in this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build enterprise-grade business intelligence solutions and support data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Power BI Dashboard Development

You will design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and paginated reports using Power BI Desktop and publish them to Power BI Service. These dashboards will enable stakeholders to monitor performance metrics and business KPIs in real time.

2. Data Modelling and DAX Optimization

The role involves building robust semantic data models using a star or snowflake schema. You will also create efficient DAX measures and calculated columns to ensure reports are accurate and optimized for performance.

3. Data Preparation with Power Query

Candidates will develop and manage Power Query (M) transformations and reusable Dataflows to streamline data preparation. This ensures consistent, governed, and scalable data pipelines across business units.

4. Power BI Administration

You will manage workspaces, datasets, data gateways, refresh schedules, and deployment pipelines while following industry best practices. Maintaining a well-governed Power BI environment will be a critical responsibility.

5. Security and Data Governance

Implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS) will be essential for protecting sensitive data. You will also enforce governance standards, including workspace roles, sensitivity labels, and tenant policies.

6. Integration with Power Platform

Another key aspect of the role involves integrating Power BI solutions with Power Automate and Power Apps. These integrations enable automated workflows, notifications, and analytics-driven business applications.

7. Custom Visual Development

When required, you will develop or configure custom Power BI visuals to enhance the reporting experience and support advanced UI/UX requirements.

8. SQL and Data Engineering Collaboration

Strong SQL skills are required to extract, transform, and optimize data from various sources. You will collaborate closely with data engineering teams on ETL processes and performance tuning.

9. Stakeholder Engagement

The role includes conducting stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, define KPIs, and validate analytics deliverables against business objectives.

10. Performance Monitoring and Training

You will monitor usage analytics, track report performance, and continuously improve dashboard design. Additionally, you will document solutions and provide training sessions and demos for end users.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service

  • Strong expertise in advanced DAX and performance optimization

  • Experience with Power Query (M) transformations and Dataflows

  • Integration knowledge of Power Automate workflows

  • Experience building applications with Power Apps

  • Ability to configure or develop custom Power BI visuals

  • Strong SQL skills (T-SQL / ANSI SQL) for data extraction and modelling

  • Knowledge of data modelling techniques such as star and snowflake schema

  • Understanding of data security frameworks, including RLS and OLS

  • Experience implementing workspace governance and tenant policies
