Role Overview – Data Analyst

Gushwork is looking for a Data Analyst to join its on-site team in Bangalore. This role is critical to building scalable data infrastructure and enabling data-driven decision-making across product, finance, growth, and operations.

As a Data Analyst, you will work with messy, multi-source data and transform it into clean, reliable insights. You will collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, owning analytics from raw SQL queries to executive-level dashboards.

This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced startup environments and enjoy building systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and scale data infrastructure: Clean and organise data from 10+ sources, create SOPs, and design automation workflows that scale with the business.

  • Own end-to-end analytics: Handle analytics across product, finance, growth, and operations, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

  • Develop dashboards and reports: Create executive dashboards that clearly communicate business performance and trends.

  • Enable self-serve analytics: Design documentation and tools that empower teams to access and interpret data independently.

  • Automate reporting: Replace manual spreadsheets with automated data pipelines and reporting systems.

  • Support strategic decisions: Deliver actionable insights that influence business strategy and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in data analytics, preferably in a startup or technology-driven company.

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, subqueries, and window functions.

  • Proven ability in data visualization and storytelling using charts, dashboards, and reports.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.

  • Working knowledge of Python or R for deeper analysis and automation.

  • Experience using AI tools and chatbots to improve analysis workflows and productivity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to ETL pipelines or foundational data engineering concepts.

  • Experience handling or migrating large datasets.

  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.

  • Startup experience in high-growth or SaaS environments.
