Role Overview
Infosys is seeking an experienced and motivated Mongo Database Administrator to join our dynamic database operations team in Bengaluru. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and supporting mission-critical databases in a 24×7 production environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues efficiently.
As a Mongo Database Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring database availability, performance, security, and stability while supporting business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues using diagnostic and monitoring tools such as db2diag, db2pd, db2dart, and db2support.

Monitor databases using snapshots and event monitors to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and system stability.

Configure, monitor, and respond to alerts for critical database parameters, taking proactive and corrective actions as needed.

Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and provide effective solutions within defined service-level timelines.

Document incidents thoroughly, including root cause analysis (RCA), resolution steps, and preventive measures, especially for unknown or recurring issues.

Perform user management tasks, including granting and revoking database access in accordance with security and compliance requirements.

Develop and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to automate routine database administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to support database-related requirements and initiatives.

Participate in a 24×7 production support model, working in rotational shifts to ensure continuous database availability and support.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably with MongoDB and enterprise-scale databases.

Strong hands-on experience with database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.

Solid understanding of database architecture, backup and recovery strategies, and high-availability concepts.

Good hands-on experience in Unix/Linux shell scripting for automation and operational support.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, tools, and technologies in a fast-paced production setting.

Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Willingness to work in a 24×7 rotational shift environment.
