Position Overview: Junior Data Analyst (GPD)

ISS STOXX is looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our Global Proxy Distribution (GPD) team in Mumbai (Goregaon East). This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about finance, data management, and global capital markets.

As a Junior Data Analyst (GPD), you will play a key role in supporting proxy voting operations, managing client instructions, coordinating with international custodians, and ensuring accurate vote processing through ISS’s proprietary systems. You will also contribute to improving operational efficiency and data quality across the GPD process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process vote instructions from global banking clients to local market sub-custodians via secure channels such as SWIFT, fax, email, or online voting platforms.

  • Prepare and manage supporting documentation like proxy cards, power of attorney forms, and other regulatory paperwork.

  • Coordinate with registries and sub-custodians to ensure successful vote transmission and handle any rejected or special meeting instructions.

  • Maintain and update sub-custodian contact databases, delivery preferences, and vote instruction formats.

  • Utilise ISS’s internal system, GPD Manager, to process, track, and audit voting data.

  • Generate and review automated reports to verify data accuracy, vote completion, and ballot generation quality.

  • Support client service teams in responding to inquiries related to proxy voting and data submissions.

  • Collaborate with global colleagues to identify process improvements and optimise workflows.

  • Perform additional analytical or administrative tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.

  • Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong team player with a collaborative and proactive mindset.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours or overtime during peak reporting periods.

  • Knowledge of corporate governance, financial markets, or capital market operations is a plus.
