Key Responsibilities

1. Data Structuring & Validation

  • Bring structure and credibility to datasets covering hiring, universities, career paths, compensation benchmarks, skills, and workplace trends.

  • Clean, validate, and standardise raw data from employers, universities, partnerships, and surveys to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and documentation across all datasets.

  • Maintain strict quality control processes before data is used in reports or publications.

2. Research & Insight Development

  • Support flagship StrongYes studies and public reports with well-organised, reliable datasets.

  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and hidden signals in workforce and education data.

  • Translate analytical findings into clear, concise summaries for editorial and leadership teams.

  • Ensure research outputs are decision-ready and credible.

3. Dashboarding & Tracking

  • Build and maintain disciplined trackers to manage research projects, partnerships, and surveys.

  • Develop simple dashboards using Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to monitor data integrity and trends.

  • Create structured reporting frameworks for ongoing research initiatives.

4. Data Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain detailed documentation for datasets, assumptions, methodologies, and changes.

  • Ensure every dataset used in a public output meets a high bar of transparency and consistency.

  • Implement systematic workflows to avoid discrepancies and duplication.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in Data Analysis, Research, Consulting, HR Analytics, EdTech, or related structured analytical roles.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data cleaning, and validation techniques.

  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data querying and manipulation.

  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or basic dashboarding tools.

  • Understanding of data modelling concepts and structured research workflows.

  • Close attention to detail with a methodical, documentation-first approach.

  • Ability to communicate analytical findings in simple, non-technical language.

  • Strong ownership mindset and follow-through in a fast-moving, founder-led environment.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with AI tools for data analysis or productivity enhancement.

  • Experience working with survey tools and structured data collection frameworks.

  • Background in hiring, education, workforce analytics, or compensation benchmarking.

  • Exposure to workforce trend research and labour market analytics.
