Emerson is hiring a skilled and motivated Business Analyst to join its Global PMO Digital Process Execution (DCX) team in Chennai. Job Overview

As a Business Analyst at Emerson, you will play a critical role in supporting Digital Tool Product Managers by translating business objectives into actionable software product features. You will contribute across the product lifecycle—from discovery and requirements gathering to delivery execution, performance analysis, and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with Product Managers, business stakeholders, IT teams, and developers to ensure digital solutions deliver measurable business value and align with Emerson’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Product Discovery & Requirements Gathering

  • Support product discovery activities and document detailed business and technical requirements.

  • Assist Product Managers in defining epics, features, and user stories.

  • Translate product objectives into clear documentation, visual models, business use cases, and data insights for design and architecture workshops.

  • Conduct data research and analysis to quantify business benefits and support the prioritisation of features.

  • Collaborate with design teams on mockups and prototypes to ensure alignment with business needs.

Roadmap & Backlog Management

  • Assist in maintaining and refining the product roadmap and backlog.

  • Break down epics into well-defined features and user stories.

  • Ensure requirements are complete, clear, and aligned with stakeholder expectations using Agile best practices.

Delivery & Execution Support

  • Work closely with Product Managers, IT, and development teams to support the timely delivery of features.

  • Track sprint progress, milestones, and risks, escalating issues when required.

  • Support quality assurance activities, business validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

Product Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of system data architecture, integrations, and governance across digital tools.

  • Create and track metrics to measure product performance, adoption, and usage.

  • Support post-launch analysis, cost-benefit evaluation, and continuous optimization initiatives.

  • Contribute to post-implementation reviews and documentation to enhance future releases.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2–4 years of experience in Application Engineering or related roles.

  • Hands-on experience with CPQ tools such as FF2 or similar platforms.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams with both business and IT stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong interest or experience in digital transformation, software development, or data analysis.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, product roadmaps, user stories, and backlog management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).

  • Experience with UX/UI design collaboration or software testing.

  • Knowledge of enterprise systems such as Oracle and other Emerson or FCV platforms.

  • Exposure to Global PMO tools and project management processes.

  • Understanding of change management practices and tools.
