Key Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst at MakeMyTrip, you will be responsible for the following core functions:

Advanced Reporting & MIS

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex MIS and DWM reports using advanced logic and structured reporting frameworks.

  • Translate large datasets into clear, actionable insights that support business and operational teams.

  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with business objectives.

Data Visualization & Storytelling

  • Create intuitive dashboards and visual reports using Excel or BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

  • Present data in a simplified and compelling manner for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Enable leadership teams to quickly interpret trends, KPIs, and performance metrics.

Process Automation

  • Identify repetitive manual reporting or data-handling tasks and automate them using Macros, VBA, or advanced Excel formulas.

  • Reduce reporting turnaround time and improve operational efficiency.

  • Continuously improve existing workflows through automation and optimization.

Data Integrity & Quality Management

  • Act as the gatekeeper of data accuracy and consistency.

  • Perform detailed data reconciliation, validation, and quality checks before publishing reports.

  • Investigate data discrepancies and ensure a single source of truth across reports and dashboards.

Required Skills & Competencies

To succeed in this role, candidates should have the following skills:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, extracting, and analysing large datasets.

  • Advanced Excel expertise, including pivot tables, complex formulas, charts, and automation techniques.

  • Hands-on experience with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work efficiently with high-volume data and generate meaningful business insights.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, enabling effective collaboration with business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will be an added advantage:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.

  • Prior experience in MIS reporting, dashboard development, or business analytics roles.

  • Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and automation (good to have).
