Job Overview

Tribe Recruitment is hiring an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer – Landing Zone Specialist for a contract role supporting a large financial services organisation. This position focuses on designing and implementing secure, scalable, and compliant AWS Landing Zone environments within a multi-account architecture.

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on AWS engineering expertise, a deep understanding of cloud security and governance, and proven experience working in regulated environments. This is a high-impact role suited for professionals who excel in cloud automation, infrastructure design, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AWS Landing Zone frameworks for secure, automated multi-account environments

• Collaborate with cloud, security, and DevOps stakeholders to align cloud strategy and governance.

• Develop cloud architecture blueprints and migration roadmaps.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK

• Enforce AWS security best practices across IAM, encryption, networking, and logging.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as PCI DSS, GDPR, and financial services controls.

• Optimise AWS environments for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability

• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps cloud enablement initiatives

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance system resilience, availability, and disaster recovery.

• Maintain clear documentation of architectures, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer or similar role

• Hands-on expertise in building and managing AWS Landing Zones

• Strong knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail, and CloudWatch

• Proven experience with multi-account AWS environments and governance controls

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK

• Solid understanding of cloud security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks

• Strong networking skills (VPC, VPN, Direct Connect)

• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash
