📊 Role Overview
As a Data Analyst in our Banking vertical, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing large-scale data, building robust data pipelines, and delivering actionable insights for banking operations, risk analysis, customer analytics, and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders from Data, Product, Design, and Executive teams to support data infrastructure needs and drive meaningful business outcomes.
This is a full-time, hybrid role, with primary location in Gurugram — with opportunities to work from Bengaluru or Pune, depending on candidate preference and business requirements.
✅ What You’ll Do — Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using PySpark and related data processing tools.
-
Write complex and efficient SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources, including relational databases and data lakes.
-
Implement data models, design schemas, and optimize data storage and retrieval to support high-performance analytics.
-
Perform data normalization and denormalization to enforce data integrity and improve query performance.
-
Collaborate with data engineers to centralise and manage data assets, enabling a unified data ecosystem across banking domains.
-
Conduct data validation, cleansing, and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
-
Build analytical tools and dashboards that surface key performance indicators (KPIs) — such as operational efficiency, customer acquisition, loan performance, credit risk metrics, and fraud detection signals.
-
Work with stakeholders from product, design, and executive teams to understand technical data challenges and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
-
Stay current with industry trends, data technologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices to enhance data processes and analytics capabilities.
🧰 What We’re Looking For — Required Skills & Experience
-
Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience working with PySpark for large-scale data processing and analytics.
-
Strong proficiency in SQL — experienced in writing advanced queries for data retrieval, transformation, and integration.
-
Solid understanding of data modelling, including schema design, normalization/denormalization, cardinality management, and data warehousing best practices.
-
Familiarity with the Hadoop ecosystem or similar big data frameworks — preferred, though not mandatory.
-
Familiarity with data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data pipeline orchestration workflows.
-
Understanding of data centralization, data quality principles, and good data governance practices.
-
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or related automation practices for data deployment and management — a plus.
-
Ability to analyse large banking datasets — including customer transactions, loan records, credit data — and derive actionable insights that support credit risk assessment, fraud detection, customer analytics, and regulatory compliance.
-
Excellent collaboration and communication skills — able to work across teams (Design, Product, Data, Executive) to understand requirements, articulate technical solutions, and deliver on time.
